To mark their 20th birthday, the team at Le Pont de la Tour (and senior figures at D&D London) invited a who’s who of the London restaurant scene to a lavish lunch on Tuesday 11 October at their waterside restaurant by Tower Bridge.
With 100 VIP guests in attendance, the pressure was on new executive head chef Tom Cook and a team from L’institute Paul Bocuse, who travelled over specially from Lyon to deliver a menu that not only impressed the esteemed food critics on the guest list, but lived up to Pont’s continuing reputation as one of the UK’s leading restaurants..
To Tom’s credit, the birthday celebrations were an unbridled success. A combination of truffle soup, lobster cassolette, Bresse chicken with macaroni and morel cream and matching wines ensured that the A-list guests went home with happy stomachs… which is quite something when your diners, who included Sir Terence Conran, Fay Maschler, Tristan Welch, Michel Roux, Charles Campion and Gary Rhodes, have very high – and deserved – expectations.
- The menu will be available in the restaurant for you to dine on until the end of October. Book a table or read the menu here.
- The team at Pont have a multitude of great offers on at the moment. Please visit our offers page to see more details and to book your table.
