Meet sommelier Nicolas Clerc

Nicolas started his career in his homeland of France, where he won the top sommelier award in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. He then moved to England and worked under Eric Zwiebel, runner-up Sommelier of the World 2007.

In 2005, he joined the five-star Milestone Hotel in Kensington as head sommelier. Two years later, Nicolas became a wine consultant for the Red Carnation Hotel Collection and won the prestigious Ruinart UK Sommelier of the Year Award.

He then moved to Melbourne, where he was sommelier at Vue de Monde, before returning to the UK in 2009 to join Le Pont de la Tour, where he oversees a team of six sommeliers.

Nicolas has been awarded the prestigious Court of Master Sommelier Award and, by wearing the Court badge, he has reached the highest level of proficiency and knowledge in his profession.
