Le Pont de la Tour will launch Le Pont de la Tour Bistrot in May 2022, over 30 years after the original first opened on the banks of the Thames. Housed in the restaurant’s former bar, the new venue is been inspired by classic French bistros and brasseries, with a menu designed by Executive Chef Tony Fleming.
For Le Pont de la Tour Bistrot, Executive Chef Tony Fleming has created a menu inspired by regional French classics and the restaurant’s best-loved dishes with a more paired-back approach.
To begin, diners can choose from a choice of classically prepared oysters and shellfish, alongside the likes of Warm Comté gougeres (£4); Mussel and saffron soup (£10); and Chicken paillard with sauce vert (£10).
Standout main courses include Duck confit, peas à la française, honey and Madeira (£20); Morel omelette, fines herbs, petit salad (£14); and Steak frites with Café de Paris butter (£19). Guests can also enjoy Plats Du Jour such as Rabbit parmentier (£16) on Tuesdays, Goujonettes of sole (£16) on Fridays, and Roast sirloin of Cumbrian beef (£22) on Sundays. To conclude, traditional French desserts will include Tarte au citron (£8); Crème caramel (£6) and Sorbets Maison (£5), alongside a selection of French cheeses.
Head Sommelier Michele Orbolato has created a concise, reasonably priced wine list to complement the menus in Le Pont de la Tour Bistrot, with a selection of both French and world wines starting from just £6 a glass. The Bistrot will also serve a selection of signature cocktails, including The Garden of Eden (Cardamom infused Tanqueray, Galliano, Cointreau, caramel, ginger ale); Save the Bees (Woodford Reserve, sage syrup, honey); and Midnight Stroll (Bulleit, Campari, Fernet, Cointreau).
