We will be pouring one of the most famous wines, Opus One, via the revolutionary coravin system in June, as part of D&D Wine’s California wine festival.
Opus One was first developed in Napa Valley in 1979 as a joint venture between one of the great European wine families, the Rothschilds, and legendary winemaker and California wine icon, Robert Mondavi.
We will be pouring Opus One 2007, a vintage almost perfect in every respect. It has terrific black currant fruit, licorice, incense, and subtle smoke, an opulent, even voluptuous mouthfeel, dazzling purity and texture, and a skyscraper-like mouthfeel. This is a sensational Opus One, with sweet tannin and impressive precision and depth.
The Coravin enables us to pour a tasting sample without removing the cork, meaning that you can try a truly classic wine, without having to purchase the entire bottle.
