2014 Agiorgitiko – Mountain Fish Red, Katogi & Strofilia IGP Pelopponese Greece

The Agiorgitiko  grapes are sourced from vineyards in the mountain region of Nemea, around the villages Asprokambos and Psari at 800m above sea level.

The grapes are planted in deep, clay, alkaline soils and yields never exceed 9000 Kg/Ha. The area’s climate is characterized by cold winter and high amounts of snow and rain, while summer is dry, with hot days and cool nights.

Deep purple in colour with the varietal aromas of Agiorgitiko such as small red fruits dominate the nose. The palate however is refreshing and smooth with velvet tannins  and a long aftertaste.  The wine has a supple, fruity, modern appeal.

This is an excellent aperitif, but also goes well with a huge variety of meats, dishes and cuisines. If it is a warm day we would recommend serving this wine slightly chilled.
