Producer Details
In south west France (south of Bordeaux), Gascony is the home of foie gras, d’Artagnan and The Three Musketeers; more importantly for Boutinot (the importer), it has been the source of our bistro wines for the past twenty five years. Gascony is cool enough to produce white wines which are streaked with refreshing acidity and sparkle with zesty aromatics, perfect for Cuvée Jean Paul or Mas de Vigneron.
Jean Paul – Red – Vaucluse 2016:
Instant first impressions are of a classic Rhone red, friendly and warming, ample, sweet rich juicy fruit adorned with that classic Rhone hallmark – spice of Grenache sprinkled with Syrah; lusciously textured plum and strawberry fruit rounds off the palate, making this a delicious, uncomplicated medium-bodied, soft, fruity and very drinkable red .
Jean Paul – White – Vaucluse 2016:
Colombard 75%, Ugni Blanc 25%
Produced from quality Colombard and Ugni Blanc grapes this is a deliciously fresh wine with a fragrant nose, zesty flavours and invigorating finish. Characters of crisp green fruit on the palate and lively acidity, it is quite dry but exuberantly fruity with a very clean finish. A real easy drinker with character.
Jean Paul – Rose – Vaucluse 2016:
Grape Varieties: Tannat/Cabernet Franc 67% Merlot 33%
Wine Style: Fruity dry easy drinking rose
A vivid pale strawberry pink with aromas of crushed red berries, laced with an exotic twist. On the palate instantly appealing soft berry flavours mingle with a smooth, yet textural finish to make this an uncomplicated, easy drinking fresh and fruity dry rosé of real character.
